Edition 14 - The Apple Apps Experiment

Recently, I've found myself using Threads more than X, and I’ve noticed an increasing number of people sharing that they’ve switched to Apple’s native apps for tasks like notes, mail, calendars, tasks, podcasts, browsing, journaling, and password management. At first, I brushed it off, but the more I saw, the more intrigued I became. It made me wonder if I should give them another try. I know this sounds hypocritical coming from me, especially since I once famously said I don’t use Apple’s first-party apps because they weren’t for me.

It wasn’t just on Threads; I was also seeing more and more YouTube videos making the same case. I’ve always believed in holding strong opinions loosely, allowing myself to challenge my own views and change course completely if necessary. This was one such time, where I felt it was worth revisiting something I had previously dismissed as not for me.

So, I took on the challenge of switching from all my usual apps to Apple’s native ones. Here’s what the transition looked like:
